Prescribing Controlled Substances?

AB 474 IS THE LAW!!!!

 

Effective January 1, 2018, Nevada AB 474 REQUIRES practitioners who intend to prescribe/dispense Schedule II, III or IV medications:

  • BEFORE prescribing, complete a Patient Risk Assessment validated through peer-reviewed research to assess their mental health, risk of abuse, dependence and addiction

  • PRESCRIBING AFTER 90 DAYS, complete another Patient Risk Assessment

  • Failure to comply may be deemed a misdemeanor and result in disciplinary actions, including fines.
