Recipe of the Month: Ground Beef AB + J

Makes 3 servings- 430Kcal, 38g protein, 24g fat, 21g carbs

Ingredients

Burger:
1 pound grass-fed gound beef
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp brown sugar
1/2 red onion
1 tbsp coconut oil

Topping:
1 Cup strawberries
1 tsp lemon juice
3 tbsp almond butter
1/2 head purple cabbage

Tools Needed:
Small sauce pot
6-8 inch cast iron skillet
Cutting board
Chef’s knife
Large mixing bowl

Steps:
1. Put meat in large mixing bowl with spices and chopped red onion, mix into 3 equal sized burgers.
2. Put coconut oil in cast-iron skillet, and heat oil until it begins to simmer. Place 3 burger patties in pan, and cook for 4 minutes on both sides.
3. Slice strawberries and place in sauce pot. Put juice from in sauce pot and cook on medium for about 5 minutes until strawberries are hot and syrupy.
4. Slice purple cabbage to form a bed for the burgers.
5. Place purple cabbage on plate, top with burger, and then add 1 tbsp of almond butter, and 1/3 of strawberry mixture.
